Artur Małek
He was born in 1979 in Tychy. A climber and mountaineer. Organizer and participant of dozens of expeditions to e.g. the Alps, Andes, Himalayas, Karakoram range and the mountains of Africa. He is a graduate of physical therapy at the Medical University of Silesia. Mountains, mountains and once again-mountains, that’s his whole world. However, out of all forms of mountain activity, he appreciates ice climbing the most. In 2012, by taking part in the expedition to Lhotse (8516 m), he began his adventure with the Polish Winter Himalaism Program- a project run by the Polish Mountaineering Association. A few months later Arthur, in a team of four, made the first winter ascent of Broad Peak-one of the last eight-thousanders still unclimbed in winter. A member of the Polish Winter Himalaism Program preparing to climb K2 in winter.
