Anna Czerwińska (born July 10, 1949 in Warsaw) is a Polish high-altitude climber and mountaineer who has climbed six eight-thousanders and completed the Seven Summits.

She participated in climbing expeditions with, among others,  Wanda Rutkiewicz and Krystyna Palmowska. A PhD in pharmaceutical science, but she has not worked in her profession for many years -quit it for the mountains which are her biggest passion. She now runs a company that imports clothes, jewellery and other oriental products from India.

Anna’s interest in climbing began in 1969. Since then, Czerwińska has been climbing in the mountains, mainly in female teams. With Palmowska they formed a good team and made many ascents before Krystyna withdrew from climbing. At the beginning she climbed in the Tatras, later became interested in the higher mountains: the Alps, Himalayas, Karakoram Range. After 1990 she withdrew from the highest mountains and returned to them in 1997.

In 2000 as the second Polish woman, after Wanda Rutkiewicz, she reached the summit of Mount Everest. In the 1990s she climbed the highest peaks of all continents. By climbing Everest she completed the Seven Summits as the second Pole, after Leszek Cichy. She was the oldest woman who sumitted Everest.

She is the author of many articles in mountain magazines (e.g. in “Taternik”), as well as several books. She was awarded the Silver Cross of Merit (2004), and the honorary membership of the Polish Mountaineering Association.
