Varsovian by birth, Zakopane citizen by choice, editor and journalist by profession, she has always been associated with the mountains, for eight years lived in “Betlejemka” at Hala Gąsienicowa.  For almost twenty years has been writing about mountain books and movies. Her texts have appeared in “Taternik”, “Taterniczek”, “Wspinek” and “Góry”, she currently co-operates with the quarterly “Tatry” and the website Wspinanie.pl, she also runs the fan page Górski Dom Kultury, dedicated to the broadly defined mountain culture. Beata Słama was the co-organizer of the 1st and 8th edition of Meeting with Mountain Film in Zakopane, she is the co-author of books: “Magic of Ski” and “O drzewach, które wybrały Tatry” (The Trees that Chose the Tatras)
