A group of Bolivian women, most of whom had spent many years working as cooks or porters in the mountains, one day decided to climb to the top. The men (their husbands) went with tourists to the summits while they were waiting in huts with hot meals. They watched tourists returning from the mountains: tired but happy and dreamt to see for themselves what it is like to stand on a summit. They asked their husbands to take them, but it still did not work. The guides had tourists on their minds, were they to take inexperienced wives with them? Besides, there was no equipment, the weather was bad, a cook was needed- always something. Finally one day, all lights turned green. The proposal came from Lydia who you can see as the main character in the movie. There was no time for waiting, thinking over, planning – the women had one night to make a decision.
