an actress, a poet, a writer, widow of a Himalayan
climber Andrzej Zawada after whom
our venture has been named. Keen proponent
of mountain culture. It has become
our tradition that Anna makes both opening
and closing speech which gives the Festival
a certain flair. This year she is also going to open
an exhibition “K2 – winter 1987/88” documenting
an international expedition, headed by Andrzej
Zawada himself, attempting to conquer the virgin
(during winter) summit of K2.
