Travelling is her passion and profession (she is a journalist writing about tourism and exotic tour guide). Out of more than 180 countries that she has already visited (all continents) her favourite ones are Arab countries but also less hot regions-Antarctica and the Arctic. Her favourite form of travelling is spontaneous backpacking, often alone, hitchhiking or using local transportation. Monika’s other interests include: diving, windsurfing, skiing and snowboarding, extreme sports and mountaineering. She has climbed many summits. As the tenth Polish woman she climbed Everest on 23rd May 2013. In 2015 she completed the Seven Summits (highest mountains of seven continents).
The most important thing for her, however, is sailing- cruises in which she participated (like circumnavigation of the Cape Horn or cruise through the Arctic Ocean from Greenland to Chukotka) were awarded at prestigious contests like “Kolosy” and “Boat of the Year” at the Media Travel Festival, in the category “Extreme”. She was also nominated for the National Geographic Award “Travelery”.
