Colin Haley
born 2nd September 1984, Seattle, USA
Alpinist, skier, rock climber, gear nerd, photographer, writer, and occasional lecturer.
COLIN HALEY, as he himself says, grew up among the moss, ferns, cedars, saltwater and glacial till of the Salish Sea basin – the fjord between Washington State’s Olympic Mountains and Cascade Mountains. He got his first axe for a climb of Mt. Hood when he was eleven years old and to climb full-time was his dream since fourteen-years-old.
Currently, COLIN HALEY is one of the best alpinists of the last decade. The quality of his ascents (mainly in Patagonia) is really impressive. He is one of the few solo climbers of the great alpine trials. In 2010 he managed his first solo ascent on Cerro Standhardt and in January 2016 his another first solo ascent on Torre Egger as well as Punta Herron. His latest achievement is having made the first ever solo ascent on the most famous Alaskan trails – the Infinite Spur on Mount Foraker.
Patagonia Alpine Ambassador, also supported by Petzl and La Sportiva.
