Frederic Degoulet
born in 1982. French mountaineer and mountain guide. A great specialist in the field of mixed and ice climbing who successfully transfers his experience from shorter routes to high mountains. Author of many new mixed routes and interesting repetitions in the French Alps, especially in the Massif des Écrins. The flagship example is established in 2015 La Prestige Des Ecrins, 1000 m, ED, M6, 5 on the North Face of the Pic Sans Nom. He has also done interesting combination route climbs and traverses in the Alps. In 2012 he successfully climbed in the Argentine Patagonia where he made an ascent of Cerro Torre via the Ragni Route. He also summited Fitz Roy, making the winter free ascent of the Franco-Argentine route and sent the first one-day combination route climb on the Aguja Standhardt. In 2014 in a three-person team called “The Moustache Gang ” (along with Benjamin Guigonnet and Helias Millerioux) made the first Alpine-style ascent of the new route Looking for the Void on Siula Chico in Peru. In 2017 in the same team they climbed in Alpine style a new route on the south face of Nuptse Nup II (7742 m). For this ascent the French trio was awarded Piolet d’Or which they will receive during the Festival in Lądek Zdrój.
