Born in 1980, traveller, mountaineer, volcanoes climber, journalist, photographer. A lawyer by education. He has climbed sixty 4-, 5-, 6-and 7-thousanders in the mountains all over the world. His major venture is the 100 VOLCANOES PROJECT which is of athletic, exploratory and scientific nature-and has been implemented since 2006 . The only such project in the world. It now involves 52 volcanoes, including 33 active, he has climbed some of them several times. He has explored more than 100 other volcanic places such as geysers, caves and volcanic deserts. In dozens of countries, on 6 continents. His motto is: a year without a trip is a year lost. While an expedition plan is like an order in army-it must be executed. He finds resting terribly tiring, that is why he never includes it in his expeditions. Grzegorz likes travelling alone, without any communication with the world. A taste for risk causes that whenever possible he wants to do things as the first man in history, the first European or the first Pole. He devises various records to beat and values the principle “the harder the better”. It is impossible to list all his interesting achievements. He discovered, among other things, three new highest lakes in the world (6415m, 6460m, 6510m), in the volcano Ojos del Salado. He has determined that the highest active volcano in the world is Llullaillaco 6755m. Within a month he climbed the 3 highest peaks of South America-Aconcagua 6962m, three times the volcano Ojos del Salado-6896m (twice from the Argentinian side), and the three main peaks of the Pissis Volcano (6800m, 6799m, 6975m). In 5 days he climbed the two highest volcanoes in North America, including the Popocatepetl. He went down to the crater of the Kibo volcano (Kilimanjaro), and to the bottom of a very dangerous Indonesian volcano Anak Krakatau. Grzegorz reached all the places of eruption of the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull. Recently he lived for a week on the top of Mount Etna to closely examine its current status.
