Marko Prezelj
Slovenian mountaineer, rescuer, mountain guide and photographer.
He is the only one who has received four Piolets d’Or (Golden Ice Axe)- a prestigious mountaineering award:
-in 1992 for a new alpine-style route on the southwest ridge of Kanchenjunga South (with Andrej Stremfelj)
-in 2007 for the first ascent of Chomolhari’s north-west pillar (with Boris Lorencic)
-in 2015 for the first ascent of the north face of Hagshu in the Indian Himalaya (with Luka Lindic and Ales Cesen)
-in 2016 for climbing Cerro Kishtwar in India (with Hayden Kennedy, Manu Pellissier, Urban Novak)
