Michał Gąsiorowski
Michał Gąsiorowski, 42, a geologist, works at the Institute of Geological Sciences, Polish Academy of Sciences. The author of numerous scientific publications. Specializes in paleolimnology and speleology. He has explored lakes situated in the Far North (Spitsbergen, Finnish Lapland), in the Tatra Mountains, and on the Equator (Ghana). He has done research in many caves of Europe, from the Crimea, through Slovakia and Romania, to the classic Karst in Slovenia. He is mainly interested in recreating climate changes which took place in the past and the influence of human activities on the natural environment, especially during the last two centuries. Privately: ultra- marathoner, dogtrekking enthusiast and dog breeder.
