In his youth he tried his hand at running, mountaineering and travelling. In 1999 he founded his own, small, mountain-oriented publishing house – Annapurna . He has a particular weakness for popularizing climbers from the 70s and 80s, such as Andrzej Zawada, Artur Hajzer or Anna Czerwińska, with whom he published a 5-volume a series of memoirs – GórFanka. Since 2003, together with a group of friends, has been organizing the Warsaw Mountain Films Review, closely cooperating with the Lądek Festival.
